John W. Harrison, III, President – He graduated from The Catholic University of America in 1972 with a BA in Economics/Money and Banking and a minor in Anthropology. He became a Special Agent for Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland in Baltimore from 1972 to 1973 and specialized in Labor Organization Bonds, ERISA Bonds, Production, Underwriting, Rating, and Sales. He graduated from the Fidelity & Deposit Company Executive Underwriter Training School and the Fidelity & Deposit Company Advanced Training School in 1973. He became an Assistant Manager/Senior Underwriter for the Property & Casualty Division from 1973 to 1976. In 1976, he received an offer to become Assistant Manager of the entire Surety Division of CNA Insurance Company. He was delighted to take the offer and remained in the position until 1982.

In 1982, he began working at Eberts and Harrison, Inc. Once onboard, he began taking additional courses. He graduated from the Aetna Casualty & Surety Advanced Education and Training School for Agents and the Property and Casualty Agency Training in 1982. Also that year he obtained his Maryland Property and Casualty Agent license. In 1983, he entered into the Life and Health Agency Training at Dickenson College and then went on to obtain his Life and Health Agent license. In 1984, he became the Vice-President of Eberts and Harrison, Inc. and then in 1994 he moved into the President position to take over operating the company.

For many years he has traveled to various parts of the country to address both the International and the Local Union Officers during their educational seminars to bring to their attention the various insurance needs of Unions. He continues to address several International and Local Unions at the former National Labor College and now at the Maritime Institute Conference Center.

He is a member of the National Labor College’s Leadership Circle and has the privilege to serve on various Labor Union Scholarship Committees. He is also a member of various insurance organizations such as International Insurance Agents Association, AAB, and other insurance related groups. He currently holds three unlimited Powers of Attorney (The Travelers Insurance Company, Ohio Casualty and The Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland) and he is a Notary Public for the state of Maryland.

He believes that for the past several decades, Eberts and Harrison, Inc has demonstrated to all of our Labor Union clients that we are proficient, trustworthy, hardworking, and dedicated to providing the absolute best service and assistance that can be provided. We try to always use American insurance companies and whenever possible we use Union/American Insurance companies for our clients.
